The Stone Collective Discuss the future of Stone

The Stone Collective recently convened with the Royal Incorporation of Architects in Scotland (RIAS) in Edinburgh to explore opportunities for collaboration and a future series of talks on the use of stone in architecture. The meeting focused on the potential synergy between the two organizations, highlighting Scotland’s rich geological heritage, from slate to granite and sandstone, as key materials in contemporary architectural projects.

The Collective was warmly welcomed by leading architecture firms, including GRAS Architects, Simpson Architects, and Arup Glasgow. Together, they discussed innovative approaches to incorporating Scotland’s dimensional stone into sustainable design and construction practices. This meeting marks an exciting step toward deeper cooperation between architects and stone specialists, further enhancing the role of natural materials in modern architecture.

Stay tuned for more updates on this promising collaboration and future events.
